About us

Picturecraft was established in 1968 when Michael Hill joined his parents to develop their modest picture framing business in the historic Georgian town of Holt in North Norfolk. This popular small country town has an enviable reputation for its variety of independent shops and business services.
The rapid growth of Picturecraft was to see investment with the sale of artists’ materials and the subsequent purchase of the adjoining Lees Yard site in 1971. It was here that their award-winning art gallery first opened in 1972. ‘The Gallery, Holt’ is now owned and managed by Adrian Hill FRSA who represents the third generation of the family.
Over 5 decades of experience in the art industry has resulted in Picturecraft’s bespoke picture framing services being renowned for their tasteful and imaginative approach to provide professional solutions for complex and quite diverse projects. Purpose built and fully equipped picture framing workshops are integral to the showrooms ensuring privacy and security of every item entrusted into the care of Picturecraft.
Attractive displays in the naturally-lit showroom reveal a most comprehensive range of contemporary and traditional styles of wooden moulding, supported by colourful metal mouldings. Choosing a frame need not be a daunting task as experienced staff are on hand to guide and advise. All aspects connected with the use of acid-free mounting materials and speciality glass with UV protection are part of the engaging process.
An equally matched level of customer care can be found in the adjoining artists’ material showroom where Picturecraft is a leading stockist of painting material from recognised manufacturers which are used by some of the world’s finest artists.
