History
April 1st 2022 marks the 50th Anniversary since the Hill family first opened their gallery doors to the public in Lees Yard. The history of the development of their business over the last five decades is currently being carefully documented to eventually feature on this website and will be accompanied with numerous interesting photographs.
The Lees Yard site in Holt holds an equally fascinating story and will also be eventually integrated into this historical account. The Yard was named after Alfred Lee who was one of the town's greatest entrepreneurs. A great deal of research has already been undertaken and documents and photographs will reveal Alfred Lee’s involvement in Holt as one of the county’s leading wine and spirit merchants (see plaque 12 on the Holt Owl Trail website).
